No, Barry, too far to go. Planning on going to Nate's Summer Dust off in Bradford.

Just epoxied in the drag props. Switch for the solenoids is waterproofed and ready to be installed. Once I get a few more things done, I'm going to give the whole boat a couple coats of spar varnish just to make sure there aren't any spots uncovered.

Some photos of work taking place.

Complete rudder linkage. Note that I replaced the set screws in the BC rudder arms with ones that use an Allen wrench instead of the flathead screws that they come with. Makes life more enjoyable. ;)

    Solenoids wired up.

Brushless pump motor and ESC location.

Plywood mount makes for easy ESC changes.

New motor and mount. You can kind of see my homemade dogbone.

    Switch for the solenoids, tiny!

Drag disks. Are the disks too close to the prop? I can adjust the distance if it is.

Need to order new balsa and resheet. Then it's time to see how the new motor works.

Yes the drag disks are way too close. Give them 3-4".
When I first started. Used the crimp on spade connectors for electrical connections. They do not he up under our wet conditions. Solder where you can and use deans connectors or power poles.

Question: How many people use the hose clamps that BC sells, and are they neccesary?

I do, they help keep the hoses on the barbs.

not sure if they're the BC ones, but I do as well. At least for the line from the valve to the gun itself. that little bit of metal can be the difference between a good sortie and a miserable failure because you can't shoot anything after 2 shots.

you might consider putting your ESC where the heatsink will get wet during normal operation.

OK, where would you recommend me put them? This is a cruiser you know, I don't plan on getting too wet. ;)

The water channel usually works for me.

My water channel is only 1 inch wide, I'd have to make a cutout. Do you think that that would really be worth the effort?

Not really. Heat has not been an issue in my smaller ships, mind you I run escs which are overkill.

Then I won't change anything now. I only have a few more little things and one more big thing to do before I call her battle ready. I really do not want to start making more changes now. :)
