Just flip them so the heat sink is upside down touching the bottom of your boat if possible.

Depends on your setup, and how hard they get run.

Hobbyking recommends a 20 amp ESC for the drive motor. I have a 30 amp one on it. The pump motor is rated for a 50 amp ESC. I have a 45 amp on it.

    Beav,
Isn't time to stop building and start battling? The next event near you (iirc) is up in Bradford PA the weekend of Jul 17-19
Willow Dale Duck Pond - Nate's Dustoff
    See you there

Yup, Barry, planning on going....with a battling ship. Will only be able to make it one day. Either the 17th or the 19th. Any idea which day would be best?

Put the first overall coat of spar varnish on today. List of things to do is getting smaller. :)

Just made a restrictor. What is the recommended placement? ( side, middle, etc). And at what angle?

Close to the pump as practical, it had to be either vertical (+/-10°) or not angled above horizontal. I prefer vertical.

If I only had on day I would pick Sat. Remember you could bring a sleeping bag and stay for free if that is part of your restriction. It would be ashame to miss the late night build and bull sessions.
    Glad you are coming!

Hey, Barry, it looks like I can only make for one day and that is Sunday. Probably not the best day, but it's the only day that works. :(
On the plus side, Suffren only needs internal armor to be considered complete. :woot: Once I get that, she will get sheeted and painted. Superstructure will probably be lacking a little detail though. ;)

I decided against using those wooden plates I built for covering the ribs. Instead I just fiberglassed over the foam. Damage control should be better....I hope. :)

Looking good Beaver. One thing regarding the pump outlet: With a narrow ship like a cruiser, if your pump is shooting straight up from anywhere other than centerline, it will list your ship. That's one reason I always recommend a horizontal outlet shooting directly astern.

Install the laminar flow outlet and there is no more list.

Sun will probably be only one battle in the AM. People have long drives home. But make it when you can!

Namba... yes you will need & 1-event is available. The laminar flow outlet is the "glug-glug" that's been talked about on the threads recently. Essentially a larger-diameter pipe downstream of the restrictor that breaks up the "jet" of water.

Ok, do you think it will list my ship if the pump stream isn't at a very high pressure? With a rescrictor, my pump stream isn't very powerful. It might shoot 5 feet high at best.
