I'd like to offer up the suggestion that the Warship Builds section could be further subdivided into vessel type (i.e. BB, BC, CA, CL, DD, etc.) to make it easier for a newcomer to identify the different vessel types from one another (especially when there may be WWI and WWII era ships sharing the same name).

I am not sure it is needed. The only real points of overlap are the Scharnhorsts and the Prinz Eugen's

That can be fixed with the prefixes SMS, DKM, and KUK.

I am not sure that there are that many Armored Cruiser North Carolina's being built, though I am thinking about it.

Yeah, as engineers we have to fight the urge to over group things. I think I'm going to push back on this one. HOWEVER, the grey armada was based on that idea (I know it died before you even joined)... If I ever run out of other things to do; I will finish it.

I just noticed the irony of our occupations:

    mechanical engineer
    Librarian/Archivist
    software engineer(?)

That is interesting. The point of commonality is a need for organization. Though I have always had engineering types as friends. So not much new here.
