I also have to swap mine! Starting to make scratchy sounds for overuse and under maintenance.

Check your rods to be sure they don't have grooves worn in em from the bearings sliding rather than rolling. I caught mine just in time. Almost needed new rods too.

Will do! Might put a bit of grease on them until I buy the upgrades. My printers running pretty stock.

Buy actual Gates stuff , you can get legit stuff from China for cheaper than the US if you're willing to wait a bit. A few good sellers over there, one is TriangleLabs

Finally getting somewhere. This was a test to see how much fine detail it could reproduce.

ABS has highlighted every weak part lol. Forgot completely that I made new belt anchors from PLA. Has ha. Jokes on me. Of course they melted as well as my cable chain mounts lol. Otherwise it printed perfectly until the belts started missing teeth lol.

Well I am trying to get motivated to get back after it on this project. Pops surgery went well Tuesday. Cancer was benign.
Little brother has been delivered safely to the airport and I have recovered from the sleep deprivation of the last week.
    However......
I have a new project to mess with now. IMG_20200308_101351301_HDR.jpg

Traded my non running 94 Z28 Camero straight across for it. Needs tires and maintenance caught up. Got the rear tire delivery yesterday, as well as the new battery. Someone had put a big car battery in the sidebox . Front tire shipped today as well as the new fork seals and exhaust gaskets. New timing belts were just over $20 shipped and are recommended cheap insurance against bent valves ECT. Should be here Monday. Hope to be ready to ride it the tag office next week sometime.

Got the first 6 pieces for the frame upgrade printed last night. Had to cut a hole in the top of the enclosure to vent some heat. It was getting up to 50c and higher in there. Melted my PLA parts that were nowhere near the hot end or heat bed. Lol. As long as I keep the temp below 45c it's doing fine. Hope to have the rest of the parts done in the next few days.

Keeping a close watch on the enclosure temps so I don't melt to PLA belt tensioners as the stock one is no more so if it fails it's over lol. Going to be printing out bare minimum needed parts to get it all over to ABS and aluminum.

I didnt look at this thread for a while but I did something like that with my printer too. I took 3 Ikea Lack tables ($10 each) and made an enclosure.
    The printer is a prusa i3 mk3s

Really want to get this project done so I can clean up the bench and start the refit on one DKM Scharnhorst and the completion of a second. Then I want to get back to the DKM Prinze Eugen 1/96th scale project.
