I need this to fit in a smaller footprint. So by turning it 45° on the tabletop, I can keep it inside the overall footprint of the table and do a Lack type enclosure that will be much more durable while looking much better. Foam box while very functional, is butt ugly. Haha.

Some of you already know but as I am slowly losing my ability to see i am forced to do things like add more light to my work area. Lol. It has much hampered my flying. Can't afford to do all giant scale and can't hardly see the little ones anymore.

Got the display mounted last night. Working on wiring it now.

I realized after I took it apart that I forget to print some better lead screws couplers. Besides that and the possible addition of an inductive sensor for ABL, is there anything you guys see I may be missing that I should do to improve the quality and or reliability?

Still need to drill a hole for the display cables to pass through and install the LED's but other than a few zip ties I'm calling it wired.

This is the part I like the LEAST. Lol. 15869303287223291934062155484536.jpg At least now I have a decent handle on it. Supposedly there is a version of Marlin firmware being developed that is much more user friendly to compile.

First print running is the first of 4 risers for the enclosure.

Still have some tiddieing up to do after the parts are printed. Have to have the enclosure frame done to mount all the new LED's. Lol

My bottom corner extensions for the enclosure are taking about 8 hrs each to print. They are coming out nice. Need to tune my slicer settings to this new machine lol. Retraction is too far and it may be under extruding a bit not sure yet. 15870822014103315896346929135835.jpg
Adjusted my belt tensioner it was a bit too tight on y axis so will see how this next one comes out.

Going to have to move the display also as it won't allow the door to close where it is. It needs to be outside anyway. Lol
Also need to set up and tune linear advance in Marlin to hopefully get rid of the blobs in random places on curved surfaces.

Have to wait till this print is done to get to the menu to invert the screen. Bit this is it's location for the extended foreseeable future. Got the rear risers installed. Waiting for the fronts to print.........

About to lose my "borrowed" bedside table lol. Bought these for this project from the beginning then found out they weren't the same size as the Ikea ones and had to find a different set of stl files.

Two more things I want to do before I call it done. A better extruder, and a bed level sensor. I am looking for suggestions on both.

Need to find something to use for the walls in this until I can find some affordable plexiglass. Thinking about trying cardboard. I have a sheet to use for the door but that's all.

Almost there. Installing the LED's now. As well as the pass through for the filament.

Using what I have on hand as money is not available for hobby stuff rite now. The large strip and the two round pucks are blue I removed from a motorcycle I got in a trade. The flexible strip are the SE green as in the above pic near the hotend.

This will be much better looking even with the cardboard sides and foam back I will have to use for now. Lol.

Had to move the entire z axis to the rear removing all but 1mm of the factory 12mm offset to gain back the bed area lost to increased frame thickness. Got it to a usable 219x216 bed. Not bad only lost 3mm in the y axis and about 6mm in z axis doing this frame upgrade.

I could get that 3mm by going back to sensorless homing on y and remove the endstop. But it's ok for now.

Now I need to make the door and decide how I want to hinge it ECT. As well as button up the last of the wiring securement. ECT. Turns out the blue strip was dead and only one puck was good. But it should be enough.
    15872678041673955721709791300681.jpg
Also need to figure out where to put this.
    1587267851111289071802133876667.jpg
May mount it so it pulls air out and put it on a thermostat.

Much better. Now I have all but 2mm of the bed in use, it looks much nicer, (more like furniture than a shop project) and it takes up less space. Printing the hinges for the plexiglass door now. Then a latch and maybe a pull handle. Thing was having issues at 30mm/s and is now running 60mm/s and looking nicer than it ever has. Can you say Happy happy happy? I knew you could.... Lol.

Now I may be able to finally get my bench cleared off for some refits. Yay.

Also since I took a stab in the dark with my initial linear advance settings I am super happy that it looks to be very close if not spot on.
