More work done today. Rudders arefigured out. Just need toold dip and some bushing and those are good to go. Propulsion is almost done, tried making my own universal. They need to be attached to the motors and prop shafts and then comes the test. Aft turret is held in place, all it needs is to be painted to match the color scheme of the hull.

Chuck do you have your servos waterproofed yet? ON this forum there is an Excellent link on how to waterproof your servos. There is even a YOUTUBE video and the same video is here on the forum.
I am going to waterproof my servos this method from how own and no more smelly plasti-dip.

    Chuck & Joy

How are the radios looking, biggest thing is are you happy with them? With both of you being rookies and all, I want to make sure you are happy with your purchase?

We are very happy with them. We have not gotten the chance to use them yet as neither of our ships are on the water. That will be remedied this week and we will let ya know how they worked out.

Is that the one where the servo is filled with mineral oil and then sealed with silicon. Why could the servo just be sealed with silicon.

You got it wrong. The circuit boards are coated with the RTV silicone to seal them and prevent electrical arcing inside the servo housing in case water does get in. The Mineral oil is used to fill the housing or top of the servo that contains the Gear train. This is where water will enter usually. The mineral oil displaces the water and keeps it from entering the case that way. If you try to seal the top part of the housing with silicone it will seize up the gears.

Thank you Evil Joker!, I have been looking for that since Craig first told me about it.
Bye the way, the Joker was not evil, just misunderstood.
