The PE arrived this morning. I picked up at Purolator.
Well all I can say is that Purolator sucks shit. The
Package travelled from St John's to Montreal and then
To halifax. They must have played soccer with the package
The super structue was damaged when the radio receiver broke
Loose from it's mount and tumbled through the crate
The main superstrucure was knocked off the deck.
The funnels were knocked out. The rear super structure was also knocked off the deck.
The masts were turned with some detail knocked off.
The flag came off. The monkey was dislodged.
The internals were checked and are working fine.
It is abou an hour of glueing back the superstructure and detail.

All the shiping companys handle every box the same.
Expect them to be thrown off a truck upside down, and walked on.

Pack as if it is going to be thrown out a second story window- and it might surive.

Been there before. I had Yamato packed tight in a 7ft box. The box was punctured with large punctures in several places.
Other large ship parcels arrived mainly intact. Bismarck arrived in a 6.5 long crate but it was intact save a few little details.
Looks like my next crate will be packed as if GODZILLA is standing on it to weigh himself.

That sucks Paul, when do you figure we will be able to see it on the water. Wait a minute, if you are running a PE, who will we shoot at?

Excellent. Can't wait to see them. The whole point of this issue is you pay a shipping company so that they can deliver your package safe and sound. If it is going to be abused you might as well send it through the normal postal shipping service.

Paul I was looking at the PE in Sunlight Photos and there is a perfect shot of the rear mast flag setup if you need a reference in repairing that section.

Most of the repair work is done. Jack the Monkey has a new home. I just need to put the flag on.

Jack the Monkey gets to fling poo from a higher vantage point. And of course it keeps people's hands off the rum.
