Things could get messy confusing if the hobby started limiting certain ships to Axis or Allied. For instance, many of the early Japanese ships that was on the Allied side in WW1 and not Axis in WW2. Which is why most formats make it simple by using nationality.
UPS tracking says my ship will come in tomorrow. Pun Intended, lol. I am super excited. Will be very impatiently waiting for the dog to go nuts sometime tomorrow afternoon when the Brown truck shows up. Thanks again to Shipcrazy for the deal and the super fast shipping.
It's HERE!!!!!!!! I officially have a combat ship. Need to get a cannon system and fit her out now. Speed control should be here in a few days then I can do a sea trial.
Two single unit cannons. Going to do two single fire stern cannons, one on each side in the casement mounts. Still have yet to decide what size co2 cylinder to get. Since I am going to use small light weight a123 cells I can probably fit a 9oz but not sure on the weight.
I have 4 2300mah packs. Was going to make up some parallel y harnesses to get two 4600mah packs. Only running a single 550 can motor for propulsion, and the same on the pump. So those packs should last up to two sorties.
For two guns, a 3.5 oz bottle Is perfect. There's nothing wrong with using a 9oz bottle, but it is a bit excessive for a cruiser.
I agree, but I can get a 9oz for less than 1/2 the cost of a 3.5oz. That's the only reason I even thought about it. Then again, it would be good for my next larger ship as well.
I need to get the radio installed in it, then figure out what valves and cannons will weigh, then do a float test to see how much weight I can add. Figure I'd rather make the weight work for its ride. Then again, as the gass gets used it will ride higher in the water.
I'd go with solenoids over mechanical valves. I have a couple S&M cannons hanging around if you would like them.
Doing this on the cheap, so pop it's are what's in the budget, lol. What do you need for those cannons?
The 3.5 oz bottle is more than enough gas. I doubt you will have any overweight issues. Adding weight is perfectly fine. As an airplane guy myself, I hated added deadweight to my ships (planes). Yet found out that it is nearly unavoidable using the lightweight batts and gear available today.
Eh. The price? Make it a battle with a working ship. Contact me via the message system here if possible and give me an address to mail them to.
Stalnaker & Mangus bringing on the pain. They are straight stainless mags, foster breeches, and short stroke interrupters. They are rather good cannons. Heh. For solenoids, try the Spartan Scientific brand. Half the cost and weight of Kips.
Ok, I have no idea what I'm looking for, anyone have a part number for those Spartan solenoid valves?
Well, after waiting nearly 5 weeks, I was able to get word today about the status of my Birth certificate. Funny how Obummer can one so easy, but I can't, lol. Anyway, I was given incorrect information and filed with the wrong clerk recorder. Grrrr. So refiled with the correct clerk, and just need to go get a form notarized and scaned in to them in the morning then wait another 10-14 working days and I should have it. Then I can get my CDL back and go back to work. I will be very happy when that day comes.
