First a big thanks for the people submitting stl files for printing I started printing boats for Tirpitz and they are coming out well ...
Just a note, neither the Bis nor the Tirpitz had range finders on Anton. Bis did at launch but they were removed before she started operations. It was discovered during her trials that they would flood the turret under heavy seas. I don’t believe they were ever installed on Tirpitz. Also, didnt I send you the updated Tirpitz super? Also also.. I have a yet-to-be-printed boat crane model if you’d like it, too.
Yes I am aware of that fact .I plan On removing them for Anton later on the build. Yes I thought you did but I haven't been able to locate it . I want to print that version instead . I would like to print that crane for sure. Could you send me that Tirpitz file again please? I'll access it tonight and get the prints started. I did send it. And in Google’s infinite wisdom, they marked it as malware and deleted it (they deleted a lot of my older solid works files too for this reason..). I will send it again as soon as I get the chance.
Ah I thought something weird was up as I was searching for it . Thanks. I will be using the detail versions for Tirpitz . The previous was a test run of the parts.
The stack came out nice! I'm curious, is that a ModelShipsAhoy hull? It looks like the one that I am working on a drive line for.
Actually it is a Ralph Coles hull. He did sell the mold to Model Ships Ahoy so what you get from them is actually his hull form. He did a great job getting the clipper shape and the taper of the hull and the armor belt is placed correctly. The bow stem is not super thick either.
Looks Great!!! so you will have her at the Michigan Nats this Year?????? Hope to see you on the water.
