No worries, I'll prop wash the mud off your superstructure when I sail over you. Crikey, Bob, I think there's something wrong with your bloody ship today!
We got the ok from the Fire Dept to use their pond again this year. I talke to the wife and she and I think it would be nice to give them a donation this year. I worked on more s/s today and will start mounting the guns that will be used to pound on the Alied Fleet this year. My VDT will be built over the battling season with hops that she can be loaned out at events. I will start posting pictures again soon.
No problem, what did you want to use it for? Im using 2 of the 9th one from the top, looks good so far, for my spee.
WOW Over 8500 views for this build! Anyone know where the directions are to post pictures? Maybe I should start posting to this thread again?
Hello all, I managed to get the Kirishima mounted to the building board and epoxied the inside and the outside of the Bismarck superstructure. A light sanding and it will be ready to paint. I also glued in the bump stops in the Bismarck hull. These are aircraft plywood that is used to keep the batteries and the waterproof box from sliding around in the hull. I hope to have Bismarck on the water in two weeks. After sea trials I will cut the windows. More later,
I worked on getting the shape of the main turrets right last night. I have one turret the way I want it and a second just about right. I filed them to get the angles nice and crisp. Thanks,
The Bismarck superstructure is complete less the secondary guns. It was just taken out back to let the paint dry.
Just wanted to update the progress on Bismarck. Or should I say Tirpitz? I have decided to change the name of the ship to Tirpitz so that Roland can continue to call his ship Bismarck. I added some superstructure to help pull off the name change. There were a few minor differences in the two ships. The superstructure is complete less the secondary turrets. I will hold off to do them until after the ship is battle ready. Wiring is at least halfway complete. I need to run the negative wiring. At that time Tirpitz can hit the water. I still need to hook the plumbing up to the guns which are all mounted. That should be a nice Saturday afternoon job. After trials I will cut all the windows.
Boomer, Yes it is longer. I have a Ralph Coles hull from Canada which is a Tirpitz hull. I think it's something like 832 feet. Thanks,
