Guys, The voting is on re new Treaty rule proposals. Anyone who participated in the August and October 2008 Treaty battles in N.S. is eligible to vote and needs to do so ASAP. See the Treaty section of R/C Naval Combat for the proposals being voted on. There's also a Yahoo Group Washibngton Treaty Combat main website where more discussion occurs. Some of the proposals would benefit carrier and Class 3 and under captains by allowing wider bow and stern gun arcs. There are also proposals for side guns on wider predreadnoughts whose beam overlaps with smaller Class 4 ships, which are allowed to have side mounts Bob
All The founders have wrapped up phase 3 of the rules process. All of the proposals that made it to phase 3 have passed, and will be written into our rules package. We appreciate you participation, and patience. As Bobo already put it. The rules stuff is finished. Now lets get back to building boats for the 2010 battling season. Thanks again to everyone that has helped make this year the most fun ever for Treaty combat. The founders. Phase 2 ends now All The polls are now closed for voting. The results are as follows. Proposal #1 (Time frame) 12 yes votes. 0 no votes. Proposal # 3 (C) (cruiser and above bow and stern quadrants) 6 yes votes. 4 no votes. Proposal # 5 (All ships with all-forward main armaments) 10 yes votes. 2 no votes. Proposal #6 (carriers widen bow/stern quadrants) 10 yes votes. 2 no votes. Proposal # 3 (D) (pre-dreadnaughts allowed side-mounts) 12 yes votes. 0 no votes. All the proposals except for #3 (C) will advance to phase 3. I will create polls for the founders, and we will try to get phase 3 finished asap. Thanks to all for your participation. The founders.
Hmmm the founders. Sounds like something ominous from Star trek DS9. Changling boats from Axis to Allied and vice versa..
Just checking in to see if you all are monitoring the rules process down in the states, and want to participate. I have been posting up-dates in the Treaty area. Mikey
Hi Mikey, I'll have a look at the rule proposals. Due to other committments those of us in the Halifax area with Treaty boats weren't able to organize a battle this year. I was out of the province most weekends from June to October working on the cottage, which was raised above maximum recorded flood levels on the St. John River. Jay was busy with house repairs and Rob was working on a new ship because his Konig was too slow to be competitive with the WWII Treaty ships. I haven't heard from the guys in the Annapolis Valley area (Scott Foster and Jason Clarke) for a long time. I know Scott has been away at sea for prolonged periods. For 2011 Jay will have Scharnhorst, which is set up to fight either IR/CWCC style or Treaty. Craig is thinking of making his Graf Spee convertable between the 2 styles, and Rob has been working on a Takao and Tirpitz. He ran some trials with Tirptiz this summer. I need to finish Ibuki which is ready for installation of the remaining internal equipment and needs exterior detailing. I found Minotaur (WWI AC) too slow for Treaty so have converted her back to an IRCWCC ship. Seems we'll have no Allied ships unless Ralph builds an Iowa or KGV from his stock of hulls. I hope 3-4 of us will have some Treaty battles in 2011. Bob
Thanks Bob. I couldn't remember who all was eligable stiil. They can vote on the yahoo site, or send their votes to me directly. I will keep posting the up-dates. The deadline for voting is this coming Sunday at noon. Mikey
Bob I recall some discussions a couple years ago concerning the sponsons on the aircraft-carrriers. And we decided on how to make them easier to add into the hull construction. But, it was never added into the rules package at the end of the year for some reason. And now, I can't seem to find it on either of the sites. Do you remember where it is at? Thanks. Mikey
