Dustin has installed all of the internals in the Le Terrible, and the boat is now ready for sheeting.
He plans to run her at the conference next month, so she will be on the water for sea trials in
    the very near future.

    1. That is Mikey's 1/96 Strasbourg
    2. Yep. Specifically some shelf liner I found at Menard's. It is really stretchy and very light.

Mark, I checked my styrene stash and all the 3 bladed props I have are 1/48 or 1/72 :(
Some of the static scale guys use clear plastic disks painted with Tamiya "Smoke" and go around the edge with a DARK yellow highlighter to simulate the yellow tips. Dip the disks in Future floorpolish (very glossy) or Right-Step Matte varnish (Hobby Lobby near artist paints) to seal and keep the yellow from fading.

There are some pretty good photos of the Kirishima on page 17 of this thread, for those interested in the boat.

Mikey suggested that I cut my props out of laminateo_O Doh! I should have thought of that. You can see how they turned out below, I'm very happy with the results.

I borrowed Mark's Queen for the displays this past weekend, and decided to have her in this photo of the U.S. fleet build-up.
So here are the USS Baltimore, USS Alaska, USS Hawaii, USS Ohio, and the Bogue escort-carrier.

We had an excellent build session at Duckie's today, with progress made on resheeting the VU and a new Takao prototype assembled.

Ah hah! So that is the Axis cruiser you were working on! A Takao!

As usual, it is a great looking ship. Kinda unique looking hull shape for a cruiser too. Can hardly wait to see one on the water!

The Ohio will be ready, the question on who comes out on top will remain as always who is more reliable, who is captaining the ships, I am a realitivly inexperienced captain, but I have been running the H every three days and working out the bugs on it, the Ohio has had no shakedown cruise, those in attendance to the first Treaty battle of the year will recall that for the first four or five sorties the H had either no cannons working or one intermittantly, both dual sidemounts are singing right now... to summarize, If I run the H and everything works, and another Rookie capt runs the Ohio and it has bugs, well then the ohio might not fare as well, inversely if Mikey runs the Ohio, well maybe I will just try and use my speed to stay away till he is out of ammo lol!

The Ohio is somewhat behind schedule.
She will be at the event, and will certainly be running sea trials.
If the sea trials go well, then there is a good chance that she will see combat.
