RE: Tribal class plug & mold build! Working slow and steady. :) Actually I just cut out the spacers for between the ribs today. Maybe might even be able to get some of the plug glued together today yet.

Plug has progressed, some of the bow has already been glued together, and the stern part is setting as I write this. Just the mid-section to do, and then it'll be one piece. :)

I'll post pics when I get to take some. :)

RE: Tribal class plug & mold build! Tribal has been post-poned until the summer. With me trying to get Suffren ready for sea trials by the time the ice is off is taking most of my time. Plus I accidentally used the wrong length on the plug, and I have to re-cut all the spacers. I'm thinking I'm going to ditch the spacers and use a keel for greater accuracy anyway, so it's not all bad.

I'll let you know when I get going on this again. Hopefully soon. :)

While waiting for some glue to dry on my cruiser, I cut slots in the ribs and cut a keel for the front step.

Tuggy, yeah. :) I've learned quite a bit on what to do from the V-106 plug. Actually, let me put it this way, I've learned a lot of what not to do from the V-106 plug. :) I looked it over the other day, and I think it's junk. The butt joints are failing, the epoxy is cracking, and it's just falling apart. At least I got two hulls off it before it deteriorated. Kind of like something to remember it by. :) So no more butt joints. Epoxy will be used with FG cloth and so forth. :)

Nikki, me too. I have no idea when I will finish it, though. :)

Probably some time this winter, that is if I can keep myself from starting other projects. :) Definitely hoping to get it ready by spring.
