I am currently in Houston this month for Ford training. This last weekend a couple of us drove down to go see the vessels in Galveston. I was personally disappointed as nether vessel was in the water and felt like they wear a fish out of water but given Texas parks and wild life track record... the U.S.S. Cavalla was the most interesting out of the two ships, The U.S.S. Stewart was a quick run threw as the heat had gone up and my wife looked like she was about to melt. When heading back to Houston we took the Ferry.

I wish the sub had been converted back to WW2 configuration.

I actually Like the GUPPY configuration and that you can go into the Sail section, the Pompanito in San Fran you can't go up there and some of the compartments have been heavily modified to ease access. (A good thing to be sure, but in the aft torpedo room they had to remove a lot of stuff for the stairwell)
