Yeah, I was surprised too at her speed. My question is in the form of a rhyme.

I sat all day in a Pacific bay.
I didn't drift or sway, but no anchor did I lay
My 14" gun kept enemies away.
And I'm still here to this day.
    Who am I?

I had forgotten that the destroyer Novik had three shafts. Cool ship though.

You got it, Garret, and it's your turn to host a question! Seems that I can't pick a question that someone doesn't answer in a hour or two.lol

The last time that I was in the PI, I did spend a day on Corregidor. (it was a VERY interesting tour of the island!!!) I could see Fort Drum in the distance. I hope that for my next visit to the PI that I will be able to visit Fort Drum. I will at least visit Leyte the next time I am over there.

Hey, Garret, do you know it's your turn to host a question? I'm not trying to be pushy or anything, just letting you know it's your turn.

    Sorry about that.

What British captain was awarded the Victoria Cross upon the recommendation of an enemy captain?

Built for the Socony-Vacuum Co., I was torped in the engine room before I was aquired by the US Navy.
My sister and I became the pattern for a large number of ships.
I was put back into full operation after WW2 and was jumboised in 1957 and continued working till 1972.
    Who was my sister?
