This one is likely far too easy ... If you're googling, let it wait a few minutes and see who knows it offhand...

I was possibly one of the most famous ships of WW1 and sailed form Tsingtao, China
    A prince walked my decks
I was a gentlemen to any merchant I came across and a rogue to warships
An Australian ended my career making headlines
    Who was I?

Yes, the SMS Emden indeed. Originally I was going to offer up that it was the 'Swan of the East' as well but felt that gave it away far too easily.

The next question is yours Kenny.

I was born the son of a servant.

I began my career in the slave trade, but was accused of murder and fled for my life.

Eventually I became the most wanted pirate in England, but dazzled the nobility of continental Europe and was even given the rank of Chevalier, and a gold encrusted sword by his Majesty the King of France.

I was nominated for the rank of Admiral in my own navy, but eventually rejected for conflict of personalities. However, a different country offered me the position of Major General, and then promoted me to Rear Admiral.

My adventures took me from the Caribbean to the North Atlantic, from the frozen Baltic to the Middle East.

Overall, I served in over 4 different navies (1 was the merchant fleet) - witnessing at least 3 different conflicts - involving more than 5 belligerents.

    Who am I?

*** This is probably WAY too easy ***

I think know it, but I don't have another question, thus I am loath to answer. :(

Well nwmeyers, if you don't have a question you can always let somebody else ask. I've got a few that I've been itching to try...

Go for it, I don't have anything offhand. I'm better at answering them than coming up with them :D
