Trivia!

most of that picture is a complete blur to me, even full size, beyond one triple turret its hard to make much out.
BUT, if its the same 'mystery ship' as http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h237/kotori87/IMG_1426.jpg in your album, I'm going to go with unnamed Dutch Battlecruiser.

Not really sure though, it doesn't quite look right to me...

I believe it is the Lutzow depicted in the 2nd image, here's my reasons:

In the underwater shot, it appears as if the bow (right hand side of the image) is suddenly cut off - but if you look closer you'll notice a grey area that matches neatly with the surface picture.

The forward turret paint schemes match.

The forward turrets angle on the bow matches to the surface shot.

In the underwater shot you can faintly make out the aft turret with matched paint scheme and angle to the surface shot. Additionally aft of that the faint image of the aft torpedos can be seen.

You can also make out the step-down to the aft deck where the torpedo launchers are located.

 

There also a few things I could mention as well - photobucket provided a image date of 9-17-2006 and the automatic filename is IMG_8087. WWCC's photo gallery for the labor day events contains images labeled up to IMG_8018, a sub-gallery of 'September 17th Battle' contains images relabeled as battle_xxx and most importantly, contains an image of the ship (Carl's Spahkreuzer?) above the sunken vessel flying the same flag as in the picture - this is important because it appears to be a rarely flown flag in the albums (as in, only in this album) - Rodney and Lutzow are the only two sinks in this album that have a triple turret - given Carl's affinity for photos of sunken ships, it seems unlikely that he missed many going down - and the Rodney would look very different sitting on the bottom.

I could be completely wrong and have been completely outsmarted here, but I'm quite confident in my choice of the Lutzow.

Nope, the U-120 was scuttled at the end of the war and was also only a training vessel.

I should specify this submarine was on its maiden war patrol and not a training boat.

 

Yes, the 1206 it was. That had to be fun story in the POW camps... 'So how'd you lose your boat?' 'Well, the cook made burritos, so I had to use the head a little bit after, and it smellt so bad, I got confused a bit...'
