If you think Violet had bad luck, I have another trivia question along these lines that's even more amazing. I'll save that one for a future opportunity.

She may have been bad luck, but she seems to have been lucky to survive two major disasters. (Olympic does not count as a disaster)

Britannic made an effort to take Violet down too. She was aboard one of the lifeboats chopped to pieces by the still turning propellers. Though suffering a fractured skull and an injured thigh, she was one of the lucky ones rescued by another lifeboat. She credited her survival to her thick hair cushioning the blow!

An early case of helmet hair or the Teela Brown gene. Her luck only works for her and is dangerous for anyone in the vicinity.

El Jefe, does that other potential trivia question involve a survivor of the sinking of three armored cruisers in a single afternoon?

No, that wasn't what I was planning...isn't bb26 up for the next question? Whatever he posted he must've deleted.

Name the only US Warship to be captured intact in WWII? Who captured her?

Wow! What a history! This USS Wake was captured by the Japanese, then by the Americans. The ship was given to the Chinese only to be captured by the Communist Chinese forces. Is that a record for the number of times being captured?

Sorry to let this thread stagnate. Here's a good one. IIRC, there was an earlier question about an island mistaken for a battleship. I'm looking for the opposite. Name a warship successfully disguised as an island.
