yepper! Very interesting ship, the Victorious. A carrier battle is the only thing missing from her otherwise flawless resume. The USN learned a lot from her on fighter direction.

My three turrets from forward to aft were "A", "B" and "X".
My guns received individual nicknames being known as Happy, Grumpy, Sneezy, Dopey, Sleepy, Bashful, Doc, Mickey and Minnie, sometime after the release of the film Snow White in 1937.

Goggle? What kind of eyewear do you have that helps you with warships?

You are correct, John has the ball.

I was a ship tasked with not one but two Yanagi missions.

The first of which included two tons of Gold that was bound for Germany.

The Second was of which had the following onboard for its return trip to Japan. Torpedo boat engines, Enigma coding machines, radar components, a Walter HWK 509A rocket engine, and Messerschmitt Me 163 & Messerschmitt Me 262 blueprints for the development of the rocket plane Mitsubishi J8M.

I was sunk on my way back to home port with the Cargo after dropping off passengers. The ship responsible was a US sub called Sawfish.

    Correct.

Guess I made it too easy. Though one can learn a lot.

This one is an easy one, but I forgot to think up a question and work beckons...

Name the oldest remaining dreadnought battleship.

Yeah. I thought about asking about the oldest monitor, which I think would be the HMVS Cerberus, but its in such shoddy condition, and is technically 'sunk' that I thought it was too ambiguous. Next question is yours.

Indeed. How much has to be left for it to count? Monitor's turret? The Cairo?

I've got one, even though I don't technically have the ball.

Which ship had thickest armor ever installed on a seagoing warship?

(Notice I said thicknest, not strongest, that should be a hint.)

What ship is in this picture?

*since the class is too easy, I want the specific ship*

While the image loads for me, I'll take a guess at PreDread's and ask if its the HMS Inflexible? She had 40inches about in some places, didn't she?

24 inches of wrought iron with another 24 inches of teak backing if my memory is correct.

HMS Inflexible is correct for my question.

    klibben,

That photos shows Css Mildge (spelling?) in the Brooklyn Navy Yard in the 1870's. Shame the ship wasn't preserved, IIRC, it was left on outside display to rot and then sold for scrap.

No, I recognized the photo from my extensive studying of Civil War Ironclads.

I knew it was a "David" of some sort, just wasn't sure which one.

Since only a handful of photos exist of Davids, it was an easy search.

    Next question,

Which ship has the last remaining set of Penn trunk engines in the world?

Hint: Its not HMS Warrior, those are replicas.
