    USS Constellation.

EDIT: OK I was wrong. Googling it though is cheating so I won't ruin it for someone else.

I looked through my Samuel Morrison collection and he makes no referrence to this. So a shot in the dark USS New Jersey.

I actually think the boat is kinda cute. She'd be a very interesting build. I think her propulsion would make her quite maneuverable and 100% weed-proof. I'd say her name, but I'm busy with an essay right now and don't have a question ready.

LOL yes, I googled it after I guessed Constellation, and when I read it was like "you've GOT to be kidding me..."

I thought that I had a good question lined up, but it turns out that I can not find any documentation to back it up!!! I will post the question once my research is complete.

I had wanted to post the definition of the word Popeyed for a question.
But I just can not find the definition now. If I recall correctly the word bascily means a drunken sailor.

so here is my substitute question:

What is an old naval onomatopoeic name for a Sub-Caliber Firing exercise?
In this exercise small bore gun-barrels are shipped inside the breeches of the big, guns enabling all the routine for the big guns to be exercised at the cost of the sub-caliber ammunition only.

October 27, 1942, Admiral King visited the USS Wolverine, a paddle wheel carrier used to train pilots on carrier landings. For that day, this unusual ship in Lake Michigan was the flagship of the US Navy.

I had heard a rumor that someone was thinking about building this vessel. My memory fails me ( like the rest of my body) on who that person was. Another odd ball like that Russian Flying saucer ship built in the 1800's

Wolverine is almost a legal ship to build in the WWCC: it is neither a sailing ship nor a hybrid ship. The only issue it has is that it is not described in Conways. Nobody cares that almost none of the transports built are described in Conways, but there is some contention over whether or not it is legal to build an Alsace, which isn't mentioned by name. I doubt Wolverine would have that issue since she was completed and used quite a bit.

It's actually Knight's turn, since the question I answered was asked out of turn. He asked:
What is an old naval onomatopoeic name for a Sub-Caliber Firing exercise?
In this exercise small bore gun-barrels are shipped inside the breeches of the big guns enabling all the routine for the big guns to be exercised at the cost of the sub-caliber ammunition only.
