Considering how fast they were turning them out before the Great War, they may have just used the plans from the previous class and changed where needed.

The Q-ships and merchant raiders would probably be 1 unit, 28 secs. Pretty big ships to only have 25 bbs in a pretty high bow or stern gun mount. Probably why they aren't used much (if at all) in fastgun formats. Most of them make appearances as unarmed convoy ships and are very pretty.

In Big Gun, if you disable a Q-ship's guns, it becomes an unarmed transport that's able to score points. As long as the Combat Director knows which it is, you don't have to tell anybody else, so the other team never knows whether they'll get shot up or not if they try to attack. Is there anything like that in Fast Gun?

I do hope to visit the real Mikasa someday. Until then, all I can do is build a pretty model of it and sink every other ship in sight :p

Hey Inappropriate Ryan! Great post, we do love the "oddballs" don't we.
Is anyone running a Danton or a Dunquerke?
How about Agincourt or Rivadavia? (or any of the south american BB's) I'm partial to HMS Canada/Almirante Latorre.
Ruskie IM class? (no I'm not even going to try & spell that)
There's a lot of really ugly British battleships to build as well... ahem! *cough* heh heh
Don't even get me started on ugly cruisers.

Of course, there's always the torpedo-ram HMS Polyphemus, with rudders fore and aft, a torp tube inside her ram, as well as four beam-mounted torps, the ability to flood down with ballast tanks for offensive operations, A keel which could be jettisoned and the bridge deck and aft flying bridge being detachable as liferafts should she be sunk.

Or, If you like REALLY pointy ships, the USS Alarm. Pointy: very, very pointy.

Haven't seen a Danton on the water yet.

The Dunquerke and Agincourt have been built and battled before.

I've seen two Rividavias battled regularly. Good ship. :)

In MWC when a ship launches in campaign an opposing captain can as if its a warship or a convoy and you're supposed to tell them. Takes some of the surprise, but it also keeps down the controversy. Of course you don't have to say how many guns/pumps you have. :)

Imperiatsa Maria? Its a Gangut...but slower.
How about Krasnyi Kavkaz, the freakiest looking cruiser in the Black Sea fleet!

Further thoughts on this matter. What about standard ships in a non standard configuration. Nagato's, Kongos, Arizona's, Queen Elizabeths, etc as built rather than the WW2 versions.

The old scratchbuilt Warspite hull I am getting from Dave Au (he did not make it he always wants me to emphasize that) is a WWI version.

I wouldn't be surprised the Neptune class had the same length and beam. I don't know what it is about about the Collosus I just love the looks of that class of ship. Should be interesting in MWC just not on the pond I currently fight on.

That would not surprise me either. The two classes were almost the same with just the armor and masting being arranged differently. I pefer the look of the Colossus, that backwards tripod fore mast just looks sharp, ignoring of course how impractical it was for its intended purpose.

It sure is impressive to see those odd little boats. Gotta be a pain to change that 16g cartridge, though.

I would think how you built it would be of prime importance in that case.
