Thanks for clarifying the rules proposal you made David. Would my plan of 2 1 unit and 1 half unit guns plus a 1 unit pump be legal under your change?

It was the Russo-Japanese war game "Tsushima" that got me interested in ships, so my first love is predreads. I only wish the MWC rules went back to a launch date of 1900 so we could have a few more.

No sorry to say it would not be. I wanted to keep the rule change so that it matches the other rule for the 3 gun cruisers, except for the 625 ft. I figured that it would have a better chance of passing, since people are now used to a cruiser with 3 guns, and the 1/2 unit pump. Keeps the rules simpler and cleaner.

In MWC only class 2 and below ships can split guns.

You should see my latest idea that I have been working on. I used it during the last weekend we battled, and I heard numerious comments about its unbeleviable how well my PE can now turn at speed, Mike much better than what you saw before.

Leaf was fighting me with his VDT, and his boat turns pretty well, but it was not even close. I was turning in less than half his distance at near full speed, even Rick and Don were amazied. It needs some more fine tuning, but is just about workable.

Now I just have to get Leaf to quit ramming me, 7 rams in 4 sorties, and each one was bad enough to sink the poor PE. He says he is just not used to a ship able to turn in front of him so fast. But we all had fun, and thats whats it all about.

I was afraid of that. Well Plan-B it is then.

    3 guns.
    .5 pump.

Plan B - Not a bad plan, if the rule passes that is. If not Plan C - 1 - 50, 1 - 75, 1 unit pump, why bother making it as the rules are now?

Indeed. Plan-C is the fall back plan.

No matter how it's armed it needs to be on the water.

I'll build mine to Plan C, then upgrade if the rule passes. It's too cool looking not to put on the water!

It's the turrets and the huge funnels.

I must journey east when Ioann is done to see the pair in action.

Of course since these are Imperial ships we cant say "In Soviet Russia, pond comes to you!"

Though we can be on the look out for "Enemey Wessels". ;)

As engineless hulks I believe. The Brits blew up the machinery of most of the Black Sea fleet.

I think a Scuttlebutt article is in order. They did have an encounter with the Goeben/Yavuz. Forced the filthy Hun to withdraw!

Brian K came over to help work on Evstafi, because there is a deadline... the October battle in Savannah. We got the front end frames done, and the subdeck and deck! The aft end is all glued together and the epoxy is curing.

In this next pic, I removed the deck to show the structure. The stbd stringer has been fitted but not glued in, the port stringer is ready for fitting, but quality time intruded (humph!) on boat time.

Tomorrow afternoon, the front end gets glued together, and I start work on the stern impenetrable area. This last shot is just the bow with the deck on and stringer, just to show that area :) The bow deck hasn't gotten the removeable section cut from it, yet.

I did some trial fitting before the epoxy went on, and I learned that my suspicions were correct; weight is not the enemy in this ship, space is the enemy. I will be using RC car battery packs vice my usual 12AH lead-acid battery. Of course, with a 28 sec ship this small, that would've been overkill anyway. The gun arrangement is probably going to be dual bow guns.

The Ioann Zlatost is making progress, just not being glued together. Every piece that you see on Evie has been traced (and in most cases, cut) for use on Izzie (I.Z., get it? :) Mainly, any mistakes I make will be on Evie, so the Izzie gets the benefit of the prior build.

Take your time. I think an all forward armament could be very novel.
