Hey Powder now that you have gotten your feet wet per say,would you recomend this ship to other beginners, the reason I ask is I have another guy that is looking at getting in and he was going to go a Salem (Desmoines class) I told him about the Balitmores and he is looking in to them.I just wanted to get a nother captains opion besides mine. Depends on the rule set. In the IRC CAs are the same speed as BBs & BCs. Any CA will get killed when the BBs decide it's time to chase the CA. In the MWC the CAs are faster so the BBs don't bother chasing them. They can be an effective ship. I think the 3 unit Houston class or Lutzow or Mogami are better then the Balts & Des Moines. The smaller ships turn better and the big CAs just have sooooo much area to shot at. In Campain is where a Balt/Des Moines can be really good. Trips are great convoy killers, plus speed, plus reloads make them better then the smaller CAs. To counter that a couple passes by a ship with sterns into the Balt is really going to hurt them when they try and run.
I would not recomend the Boston to any new person I wish I had srtarted with the Sodak there is no roll in our game for a ship like the Boston to long no punch and real tippy if you want to run around the out skirt and guys are nice and leave you alon you will survive but not much fun in that go big or go home i had fun building it but she is stripped and sitting on the troph shelf dought she will ever see the water again
