ok i will post pictures in the morning im a bit tired at the moment i have all the frames and the keels cut and fitted to the subdeck and each other it all looks good one thing i would mention im doing the build with lowes plywood and i wont do that again its very brittle i have had to remake 2 frames and repair my keel which broke from falling to the floor its my first hull and its a long way from perfect but i think its close enough for a trainer boat
a stationary sander is definitely in my future tho
i am using a full keel to make assembly easier i intend to cut out the center after i get the 1/4 sticks glued in but i really dont see why i couldnt leave it in
next i cut out the center from the subdeck and glue all the ribs and 1/4 inch wood sticks and figure out how i want to do the hard area at the rear of the ship it has several contours

    more in the morning

Is this going to be a fast-gun ship or is it just a model? Are those 1/4" ribs or 3/8" ribs.

In fast gun, you can have 18 1/4" ribs in a Cleavland class cruiser if I am not mistaken.

irc fast gun and i will add more but i need to see it first and the ribs are 1/4 inch i was thinking that if i add more ribs i would make them 1/8 and just use them to keep the shape and your correct rib calc says 18

I never cease to be amazed at the quality of work that can come off of a kitchen table. Nice wood hacking so far! :)

I find I do my best work in very cramp places like closets, stairwells, offices, garbage rooms, ect.
