The diamond cutters work well. Though if you really want to keep the mess down, one of the multifunction tools with a flat or half round blade will do the job far neater and faster.

Neater and faster is what I need! Now I know the I-Boat didn't have casemates, but the Duke did which is gaining on me again. ( Its that Tugboat disease acting up again :) ). Even if I stay with the I-Boat, I would still like to know what to do with the casemates.

Well now I just discovered the Queen Elizabeth. I did some research and found that Ralph Coles used to make the hull but he sold the mold. He now has a Valiant hull but those buldges look impossible to me. Does the old mold have the same buldges? But more importantly, is there an old hull still around?

Matt. I have one of those Ralph Coles hulls. It is very nice. The "double" bulges are extreme. What ruleset are you wanting to build in? I hate to say it but I might be interested in selling because I have a baby due in a couple days and not enough monitary "cushion". Shoot me a message. It is the hull in my avatar.

We are going to have a one day event at my pond in Esopus, NY. It looks like it might push into early Nov. There are schedule conflicts before that. I will post when I have a firm date. There will be battling and testing of new brushless systems as three of us will have them installed by then.

Depends on what you need. 2.4 ghz seems to be the way to go these days. Someone must have, I suppose. Probably not.

2.4 is really the only way to go as the fm surface receivers are becoming harder and rarer to get

2.4 is hard to beat for price and ease of use

    I've been collecting 75MHz sets (slowly) :)

For ease of use and price, the 9-channel radio from Hobby King for about $50 is really hard to beat.

6 channels is plenty and the programmable one from HK is like $45. Great radio. Easy to put buttons in, too, if you want to do that.

There's a how-to on the mwci site( www.mwci.org ) that is meant for Airtronics, but it's worked on Futaba and the HK 2.4GHz and Spektrum for me. You need 4 SPST momentary buttons, some resistors, and a soldering iron. Oh, and ballz of steel.
