The other rookie cruiser for PMWC members and new battlers to try out, the big Des Moines. Last and largest of the heavy cruisers. This beast displaces about the same as the first generation of Dreadnoughts. This particular model was laid down all the way back in 2003 and through several hands is back with me for a complete rebuild. The last owner battled her a couple times before finishing his HMS Hood. Systems will be replaced with poppet valves and simple switches.
Here's the same USS Des Moines cruiser, completely rebuilt and ready for the Chaos in Carrolton Texas event October 19. Looking forward to getting her shot up!
Gary beautiful ship hope to see you in Carrollton. It will be my first battle hope we can recruit a few more captains
Gary, are you driving from San diego? I'm leaning towards not going at this point. It sounds like a one day event with only 4 sorties at the discretion of the racers guys. 14 hr drive for me Randy
Coming from Sacramento, CA; 1,700 miles. I just rebuilt the ship as I acquired it. It had two guns; one is 50 shot and the other is 75, then a full pump. I now notice that the original photos of the ship above shows it had 3 guns. Not sure why I got it differently, but I'm good with it as is. As I told the event organizers; I will be there as long as there is one other captain to fight (and someone to help me get the guns shooting). These things are finicky SOB's.
