Does anyone know where I can find free plans online of the USS Gearing Sumner, or Fletcher class that include the rib sections? I am looking into building the Gearing, or at least modeling the hull in CAD for some friends. The three different destroyer classes are all within 5% of each other, and as such, any hull will work for any ship in those three classes for my club, and I just need to change the superstructure. But I need the rib sections to get the hull right, first.

Also, does anyone know how fast the USS Timmerman went? It is listed as having 100,000 SHP (standard Gearing destroyers had 60,000 SHP) but no actual speed is listed in Conways. If you do know how fast, what source did you use?

The closest I can find on the Timmerman is 40-43 knots, estimated. That was from Navsource.org. It also lists the 100,000 SHP to be "theoretical". I know that isn't much help.

For anyone who is interested in USN destoyers, WWW.destoyerhistory.org might be of interest to you.
