Hi Mate , I’m the C.O. of the AUSBG , have a look at our website, www.ausbg.org , lots of info on it , contact us if you need a hand , not sure if you have meet anybody in the hobby over there but we had a few members. Greg.
I have met one but haven’t heard from him since his name is jon and by memory he is currently building the yamato belfast and already has 2 liberty ships
Yes I know Jon , he has a set of my cannon , he’s been to a few of our meetings over here. I know it’s a big effort but on January LWE we are having a meeting near Armidale at a place called Guyra. Armidale , Brisbane and Sydney Guys will be there , plus a few others maybe, no sure. Also , not to put too much of a downer on your build , but a Montana class B.B. , won’t be legal for use in the AUSBG , due to them not being laid down. If you haven’t progressed to much Past the pics you have posted you could turn it into an Iowa. I scratch built my Iowa like you are 12 years ago and it still sails and battles hard. Greg
Unfortunately i have come to far to covert all of the ribs deck keel and supports are all laid out, plus she is 2cm greater in width than those of the Iowa class in 1/144. Thanks for reminding me about the rule but the boat is too fun to build, i will decide what i will do after she is ready for launch (e.g, non combat, display model, target practice, conversion or something else that i may think of)
She is legal in the WWCC just fyi. Well then go by your own rules If my friends made up rules, there would be planes, nukes, explosions, airships etc. Moral of the story: don't put them in charge lol
I know they are weird. They want to launch it at high velocity and stuff. I don't know, but they dropped the idea really quick. It was weird.
