Update. Had not had the time to work on the NC. Was out of work for several weeks than finally new job but working Graveyard so it is still an adjustment. Now my sister will be laid up from Knee Surgery and she is recovering in the hospital. At the same time my mother was placed in Nursing home residence so my free time has been non existing.
I managed to finish up the 40mm gun tubs and I picked up piano wire for cutting and installing as barrels into the Quad gun tubs. Going to install the barrels tomorrow morning. We had a good thaw today with very warm temp so a lot of the ice on the ponds and lakes is finally melting away. I will not have to use the space heaters in the shed as often.

Update on the AA guns and the NC in general. I finished the Quad Gun tubs and the rows of dual, triple and the very large rows of 5 AA guns. Just need to build the Upper works AA guns. The pvc rings used as gun tubs that came with the kit are not scale so since they are already attached and I cannot take them off without damaging the superstructure the guns themselves will be downsized to fit in those tubs. I have the individual 20mm mounts and barrels to make and install left to do. The sides of the superstructure has been sheeted with styrene. Other than that Captain Mckinnon was visiting this past weekend and I showed up the shipyard and the NC progress. He took some pics and have posted them to FaceBook. I have posted some pics to Facebook as well. Today I hope to finish up the remaining AA guns. In the home stretch to finish the superstructure.

That hull was made by Ralph Coles several years back. I dont know if he still is making those. One of the hulls I got from him came with a fiberglass deck with the Barbette impressions in the deck.

Finished adding the rails along the 01 Level of NC. Some of the quad gun tubs are secured to the superstructure and weather deck. Will be making the barrels and installing them in the main turrets soon. Some life rafts were attached to the 01 level deck.

Superstructure is nearing completion. I assembled one of the main turrets. Hoping to get this ship out for a float test when the weather clears and time permits

I know what you mean! The 90 degree heat and sunny skies still haven't warmed the water above like 75 F here in Georgia... hate this cold weather!

Yes and though the ponds are not frozen our temperatures have been in the low single digits and tonight with the wind and heavy rain the temp are dipping to below 0c. There is heavy ice and Icebergs surrounding our Island and we have nothing but heavy fog or RDF which stands for Rain Drizzle and Fog. In other words....IT SUCKS!!!
