Finally! Finished the skegs. Their cleaned up and ready for paint. I worked on the sub-deck and main deck and cleaned it up. I sanded the main hatch to sit flush with the outer edge of the deck . So now the hatch sits nice and tight with no edging overlapping. Cleaned up the exterior of the hull of clumps of putty . I will varnish the deck with several coats of marine spar varnish. Then I start on the internals. I will begin with the rudders , then the motor mounts then the water channeling.

I picked up my 1/4 in balsa sheets for installing for the water channeling. Going traditional on the water channeling. Searching for Marine Spar varnish to use on the main deck. I may have to use another type of varnish if I can't find the spar varnish.

Pics coming this weekend. After we did out yet another upcoming snow storm. I have a good idea how I am going install the internals and will be trying out the innards this weekend and getting the center of gravity figured out along with weighing it at this stage to see how heavy it will be fully loaded.

I'm posting the pics this evening. I worked on the port gear system for fitting out for a few minutes last night. The waterchanneling is secured and dried along with the rudder post mount. I am hoping to get more time in on it as the ponds are clear and I want to get this model out for sea trials as soon as possible.

That's it for now. Plan to get the rudders linked up and get the gear wheels and pinions on the motor shafts setup. Once done , then I will wire up the motors, start waterproofing the servos and begin building the servo mounts and waterproofing the mounts .

Nowhere near to where I want it yet but I am trying to move it forward for Captain Solo. I normally would use a universal between the prop shaft and the prop shaft exiting the housing like I did on Yamato and Missouri but this one I am bring the stuffing tube right to the housing of the mount and running the prop shaft through it so that it connects directly to the gear wheel with no U-JOINT between the assembly.

I was trying to get one of vids loaded too using Adobe Premier Movie Making but I messed it up. Back to the manual again.

I installed the barbettes and made a slight adustment to the stbd rudder post. I installed the port gear shaft and it turns smoothly.
