Seeing as the USS texas was considered a second class battles ship, would it still be considered a predread or as an armoured cruiser?

It was always considered a battleship. Maine was originally considered an armored cruiser.

I would say Battleship as i dont think any of the formats distuoguish between 1st and 2nd class battleships. However you should ask this question directly to the people you battle with.

All predreds were battleships in their day. The distinction between 1st and 2nd class is more a distinction of capability. Much like a heavy tank and a medium tank, both are still considered tanks. 1st class battleships were often down graded as they aged or arms races increased required capabilities. The US navy built the Texas as a second class because congress was a bunch of cheap skates and didn't want to pay for a proper ship. This doesn't make her any less of a battleship.
