RE: V-106 Build Again, it will depend on how they turn out. Given the size of the ship, probably not a whole lot.

RE: V-106 Build It's kind of hard to tell, but there is a second layer of glass.

RE: V-106 Build I would start cutting them now, but things have taken a turn for the worse. MY SCROLL SAW HAS DIED! (weeps)
So, things are all going to be cut by hand for a while.

RE: V-106 Build Yeah, very unhappy with the saw, but like Jstod said at least I had one for a while.
I don't think I would have been able to cut out Suffren's parts by hand. ( I don't even want to think about that) :)
I'm thinking I might get a table scroll saw for my next one.

RE: V-106 Build Nothing broke, just wore out. :) I think what happened was the gears that run the blade wore down so much that they don't touch each other enough to run the blade.
I'm not sure, but that's my guess.

RE: V-106 Build Been working on Anachronus's and my V-106 hulls.

Started working on laying out the ribs. I've decided to go with 1/4" ribs.

Epoxy is on and curing. The clamps are for fixing some imperfections. :)

This is the front of the hull. That is a little longer than 1/4", shouldn't break.

RE: V-106 Build Can anybody tell me how tall is the waterline from the base of the hull on V-106?

    Thanks,

Well, I've finally decided that my scroll saw is junk. :( I tore it open today and found the problem. A small section of the one gear wore down so that when I try to cut wood, it slips at that spot and spins without running the blade.
So anything that requires cutting is postponed until I get another saw. :(

    I don't know, it's a pretty old saw.
