    Titantic had watertight compatments?

Humor aside... you can put in a watertight compartment for the electronics, but apart from that, compartmentation is illegal in most of the clubs that battle.

I didn't know that the Titantic had water tight compartments!

Water tight compartments for electronics is OK, but the compartment needs to be as small as possible, and not give the ship buoyancy.

I think the open tops negated the watertiteness. Hense the reason it sunk....

They didn't miss it. They did it on purpose. They didn't think a worse case scenario could happen (massive leaks in more than 5 watertight compartments), so they chose to save money by not having the watertight bulkheads go all the way up...

Of course they did go all the way up on Brittanic and a mine took her out quite quickly.

Only because the portholes were left open to "air" the ship out, in preparation to receive casualties.
