What are the ratings on "BC" motors?

Just curious about the actual details or ratings on the three
DC motors listed by Battlers Connection.

    6v Motor (280) $4.25
    7.2v Motor (365) $5.00
    6-12v Motor(550) $5.50

I mean, other than the voltage range, the numbers 280, 365, and
550 tell me nothing, except I know from talking with people that the 550 is bigger and more powerful.

Now I wander up to "The Source" (ex-Radio Shack) and I can find:

    12V Motor, 11500 rpm, 1.3A max efficiency, 56gm torque,
    250gm stall torque, $5.99

    and,

    9-18V Motor, 18000 rpm, 1.98A max efficiency, 72gm torque,
    350gm stall torque, $6.99

Could someone please enlighten me as to the possible torque and current ratings for the three BC motors?

    Thanks!

unfortunetl, the numbers refer to Can size only. For example there are many different 550 motors with different speed and torque. The letters behind the 550 idenifys them for performance. Also I read that electric motors are the most effient when loaded to one half of their unlosded speed.

    Hi warspiteIRC,

Yeah, I was reading another motor thread about running a Yamato much more efficiently and with less current draw by using a pair of 700's instead of a pair of 550's. They had better acceleration and ran cooler too. I guess I'll find out by experimentation, eh? :)

Oops, on a related note does anyone know of a good online source for switches?

I went to "The Source" (Radio Shack) for some single pole, double throw switches (SPDT) to wire up my motor controls and they didn't have any. I accidently bought SPST (single throw) ones by mistake and they are useless for motor wiring.

Gentronics in Burnside? Got it! Thanks!

Although I'm starting to wonder if I can gang TWO of the mini switches
I bought together to make a working speed control?

...sigh, I sense yet another experiment coming.
