Welcome to the greatest hobby ever!

Hey we've all been there. Your best bet is to link up with the club nearest to you( I believe there are both fast gun and big gun in Texas). Club members typically have a couple of boats laying around they may be willing to lend out as loaners while you build your ship. Best bet is to get in touch with them. Many of the members of clubs frequent this forum so they should be relatively easy to get in touch with.

We have a fast gun club in your area but no pond at the moment. We travel for our events for the time being. Jeff is in Frisco, the closest to you.

Perhaps we can have a build session soon and you can come out. If you don't have any money then you wont be able to buy a ship. You may be able to borrow one for events.. but at this point they will be out of town. A bit of a bummer but maybe it will change soon.

Sounds a bit like you may be still a minor at home? Well, that is good and bad. Bad because as you've pointed out, your own ability to make decisions and enact them is limited. Good in that it is a fantastic opportunity to get family involved in a great family hobby!

Yes, usually free of chemicals and dangerous things (gators, gars, metal, debris, etc), 4-6 foot deep, accessible by vehicle.. shade trees, etc.
