What ship to start on and how to get plans.

    Did I hear Alabam bam!(my first ship, oh my gosh I sank a lot)
    I just got done rebuilding mine and it is all photo documented! Check out the warships builds as to how they all come together and welcome aboard! Good to have you.

    Probably as cheap to buy form one of the vendors (they are not terribly expensive). I don't know of any public domain plans for the Spee. There are public domain plans for many French ships available, and some US (like the Iowa class) published on the web, and Tug has adapted many and included them here on RCNC in the files section. One thing to remember when making a sood verion - there is some artistry involved, primarily in the bow and stern sections, where you will need to carve out some complex curves.

    Also, a wooden hull tends to reduce the area within the hull available for other stuff over the room you typically get with a fiberglass hull.

    Another thing you might want to look at is the introductory article from Servo Magazine on the Visit this site site (see the In the News section). Sadly, this pre-dates Treaty, but might give you some additional insight into the differences/trade-offs between formats. There are also lots of how-tos, and links to other clubs' sites (with their own how-to sections).

    I agree with Bob, pick up one of the fiberglass graf spee hulls, they are fantastic, and i know from experience.
