Josh is trying to put together a one-day event in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, on the 14th of Nov.
The site is near King's Island.
    More on this later.

Here are some directions to the event near Cinci next Saturday Nov. 14.
I do not have a street address, but will post one later.

The pond is in the Village on the green.

From I-71 take exit 28, and go south on Ohio route 4 @ 4 miles.
Take a left on Stephen's road.
Then turn right into the Village on the green.

I will post a street address later today.
Lets try to get the first battle started around 10am.

I have spoken with Josh about inviting the Big-gunners to battle between our sorties, and he says that is fine.

We will also be discussing the calendar for the 2010 battling season in our area.
Hope to see you all there.

    Sorry for such short notice.
Josh has informed me that we cannot use the Cinci site for a battle this Saturday. (It's a long story), but couldn't be helped.

So this is what is going on..
We will be having the battle this Sat Nov. 14th (tomorrow), at the Xenia, Ohio battle site.
Start time will be around 10am.
We will stay as long as we like.
    This is a one-day event.

    Address is..
    1880 Turner Rd.
    Xenia, Ohio
    45385

Looks like the Dayton locals, and Roland will be attending.
If you have any questions, feel free to call me on my cell.

    As per the last post..
The Nov.14th battle has been moved to Xenia, Ohio.

    However.
Josh says he will be at the Cinci address later in the day, and is willing to host a build-session tomorrow.
He will also be there on Sunday and can host a build-session on Sunday as well.

He is also going to try to schedule a battle in Cinci in the very near future.
    Sorry again for the inconvenience.

We are trying to schedule a build-session in Louisville, Lexington, or possible Cincinnati, in the next couple weeks.

The big-gun groups have been invited to attend our May 1-2 event in Ravenna, Ohio.
The two groups will take turns fighting sortie style battles.
    Thanks.

We have not gotten any commitment from the fast-gun groups for
attending the Memorial Day weekend multi-format event in Xenia,
Ohio, to battle in between our sorties.
So at this time, we are offering up an invite to all of the
    big-gun groups to attend.
We have some new folks that are interested in seeing a big-gun
battle, and have more interests in building ships to the big-gun
    rules.
If you are interested in attending, please contact me at
    MDeskin@aol.com
    Thanks.

The Treaty conference (Nats event) is less than a week away.
I have not been on the web much lately, as I have been too busy with getting ready for the event.

The Treaty conference starts tomorrow morning.
I am not as ready as I would like to be. But I am looking forward to putting the boats on the water again.

Hood, Strasbourg, and Prinz Eugen all participated in the event.
Only the Hood was sunk (on Saturday morning). Due to a bad battery in the pump circuit.
Very same thing that caused the Jean Bart to sink out from under Vance last fall.
Different battery this time. Admittedly. They were both rather old batteries.
A simple test would have discovered the problem. But I was too far behind schedule on other things to get it done.
The Lutzow was there as well. But she never got finished.
She is only a few hours away from being battle-ready.
The Prinz Eugen did really well this time around. She dished out lots of damage, and took quite a bit in return,
    but not a lot.

It looks like Roland might host a one, or two day battle at the Ravenna site in the next month or so.
    I will post up-dates.

Roland is looking at the weekend of August 20-22 for the battle in Ravenna, Ohio.
It appears that there is a big-D-Day re-enactment event going on up near Conneut, Ohio somewhere as well.
So we may drop in at that for a day as well.
