Why is there a Fletcher in the logo? Almost no one builds DDs our hobby, so why not make one of the more common ships like a cruiser or something?
(I'm sorry if this annoys anyone, just my my musings)

It’s a classic and easily identifiable profile of a generic warship. Seems like a good call to me.

Yes it is annoying...maybe you should concern yourself with building your FIRST boat and not with a forum that is free of charge.

I never really cared what was up there just so long as @NickMyers put the Christmas lights on it before Christmas and took them down after the New Year. ;)

You are welcome to create an alternative. If people prefer it I'll switch.

I’m pretty sure it’s a Gearing. Trivial I know, but I thought I’d point it out.

I've never actually thought too much about what it was. If I changed it though, I'd have to string new lights.

@NickMyers I wouldn't change it, it's part of the site's branding at this point.

you can self-source a RCWC mug upgrade kit. You take a business card and some packing tape, and tape the card over the existing logo on a mug. Handwash only, not dishwasher safe.

Doesn't work as well on a mousepad though.

Looks more like a Fletcher class too me. I can only make out single guns in the turrets, Gearing's had 2 guns per turret. And the hump in the aft deck area on the Fletcher, was the 2 additional turrets, the Gearing's did not have the hump, only the single dual turret on the stern.

The Bridge was straight up and down on the Gearing, and did not have the viewing platform around it like the Fletcher's, which you can see in the silhouette. And the Gearing turrets had range finders sticking up from the back of the dual turrets, which the Fletcher's did not have, also not on the silhouette.

Super uncool dude. This is the first step in turning someone away from the hobby. You sound very surly.
