I am using two of these motors:
    http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item/DCM-229/400200/3-12_VDC_MOTOR_.html

I have been hooking them up to a wall transformer which supplies 9VDC at .8 amps. I have tried other power supplies up to 15VDC at 1.2 amps. At the higher volt/amp level it started turning in short 90 degree jerks but never the way it should. Can anyone see something I am doing wrong??

You may be overcurrenting you wall source. Remember, those current values are when the motor is spinning relatively freely. There is a large current spike when you first start the motor. Hook them up to a battery and try it. The other option is a Bum motor (Dead).

Thank you! I hooked it up to a battery and it runs fine :)

Those motors eat current like there's no tomorrow, It takes 4 AA's each to keep them happy :)
