    hey guys

I’m working on trying to pickup a Baden that hasn’t seen battle in over 10 years. Is it possible to upgrade a ship of that vintage to new rules or is it best to start with a clean build?

    Thanks
    Don

    It depends...
    What is included?

In general hulls/shafts/decks superstructure can be fine. Guns can also be used as well, but should be checked and might need some fixing.
Electronics should probably be redone. Solenoids are fine (if included). New motors

Now Baden specifically, the casement region probably isn't correct and should be redone. If you have pictures that would aid in the judgement. Casements are non-trivial and are daunting for some. They would be easier to start from a clean hull.

There is an Australian supplier that makes a Baden hull with casements already molded in. If you are interested I could send a link. I bought a Baden hull from him about 10 years ago and modified it to be a Rivadavia

Great info, thanks. I’m hoping to get some photos today and will share one that focus on the casement region. I expect to modify most of the internals, I’m more concerned about any modification in rules during the past 10 years causing the ship to be non compliant

Casements are only significant concern, the major construction rules don’t change much

Do you have a link to the Australian provider?

Brian Kohler sell casements I think for the Baden. If you go with a Strike hull.

Sadly Stephen (Strike) is out of Baden hulls.
