No lead skegs, melting lead falls on the list of things I won't do in the apartment and I don't want to add more weight to this boat. I used some 3/16 x 1/8" basswood strips, CA'ed them to the hull, then fiberglassed the underside for support

But we have smelting equipment here and you can use the shop whenever you want to visit.

Thanks Nate, your hospitality is always appreciated!

Got Kongo out on sea trials today. Did much better with 1.5" props and more optimum pivot point on rudders. Turning radius cut in half or more. Still plenty of margin on throttle, I had her at 40% forward, 80% reverse for my speed estimate. Just about ready for first battle

Acceleration and gun placement make the Kongo class

Im surprised the aft of the ship sits so low in the water.

Thanks Mike, we should form an Alexandria battle squadron

Battling in the northeast is less of the stationary stern-to-stern style, so need some amount of turning to play. No noticeable decrease in acceleration

Low freeboard helps get under other's guns. It rides like that from the angle of the drag props. Once she was full of water the freeboard was a bit too low when running, so I'm going to try out horizontal drag props and see how she does

Battle damage from last battle. Had some pump issues throughout the weekend (likely bad connection in signal), so stayed close to shore and let the boat get shot up. Took 69-26-76 and wasn't even at a full pump stream, great balsa I guess. New personal high on belows without sink

Few things to change before oakboro, made good progress today. Probably test out early next week

Mods are done, new drag shafts added. Tested out today, successful mod. She'll still submerge a bit in an extended reverse run but not much of a change vs the angled drag shafts, while more level running in forward with damage, and better drag characteristics (had to bump throttle up about 10%). Patched a few of the holes but left some to test the pump out capability / see how she performed while pumping

Short pump out video. Sinks pretty level, could try to get the bow a bit more down. She has about 60 - 20 - 60 in damage here. Gotta love the glug-glug-turned-fire-hose with the brushless pump, need a good amount of reverse to hold in place (also didn't want boat to twist and spray me)

If Kevin doesn't make you p*ss your pants with his guns, or outright sink you, he'll wet your pants with his pump! No one is safe! Lol

    Wet Pants Guaranteedâ„¢ ;)

Yeah it's a shin soaker, but the velocity of the stream can probably spread the damage further

Before @Bob and Peter helped me set up laminar flow outlets, I was on five and going down, and trying to get the boat closer to me. 25 ft streams from both pumps. she heeled over (Idaho capsizes when she sinks, working on fixing that atm) and sprayed everyone on shore except for me, and like Peter and Palmer. I think Matt took a full blast right when she first started to barrel roll. it was both embarrassing and amusing.
I think that was the moment when Bob decided corrective action was needed, lol.
