I hope this is not a violation of forum rules but thought it'd might be of interest to share a java based simulation of the Mark 8 rangekeeper that was employed in USN cruisers and battleships. A tutorial for the tracking procedure is also listed on that page and I can answer any questions you may have. BTW- I was unable to recover my original account so this isn't my first post here.
