We found the same exact failure mode on one of ours. All of them from now on will get the boards coated in epoxy and the outside e6000'd to help seal them up. They're china "waterproof" apparently.
Got her patched, new rudders in, co2 lines in, receiver hooked up. Need to paint and test guns tomorrow probably, heading to oakboro Friday afternoon. Still a rats nest but pretty is below functional on my requirements list. Much easier to get batteries in and out now
I probably consider something waterproof if it survives a battle season. I pulled apart the servo in Kongo and it had some water evidence but still worked, so I cleaned the board up, coated and sealed it. the traxxas servos generally lasted me about a year with 5ish events and nats, but some of my recent rudder setups need more torque tested triples out today with the two bottle system, seemed to work great. Might be getting funny spin from one of the barrels based on some shot pattern so I should probably disassemble and clean up tips at some point. Most of the time they were knocking out a dime at about 2 ft from stern, hopefully they behave as well this weekend remaining effort this week will be gathering things and packing car
Good trip to NC this weekend. Rain Saturday but still got 3 sorties in, and 3 sorties in this morning Boat worked well, was able to use triples this time with good effect, a few nice holes here And some on QE (went out of control so not really fair) Not sure if you can see the damage, but I let it get pretty chewed up this morning, need to count. She seemed to do OK when full of water, might go up on the pump to 1350 from 1200 because it looks like battery capacity can take it easily Update on the count: 158-15-77: probably a new personal best
