Bob Pottle, just thought I would post about the ships I have you built. HMS Courageous, HMS Minotaur, HMS Hood, and my son Ben’s SNS Canarias, all are now in my den displayed. I always thought you built your ships with detail that most builders didn’t do knowing they would be shot at and sunk. As a sailor that means a lot to me. I thank you for building these ships they have been enjoyed by everyone especially myself and my son. I hope you are doing well. If you are ever in South Carolina...

Almost two years ago John C., Paul M. and I got together and talked about reviving NATS in 2014. Unfortunately nothing happened, in large part due to people's work committments.

I'm trying to revive NABS (NS) again. So far this year there are three interested people with RC warship combat experience: Steve Hill, Ralph Coles and me.

Jason C. and Paul M. were both still interested last year and each had at least two battle-ready models. With Minotaur being sold soon I have only HMS Gorgon...
Tamiya modelling putty worked well and the deck is now smooth. This being one of my first fiberglass decks I hadn't used enough gelcoat for effective plank scribing - the blade kept hitting the underlying hard resin and skipping.
Doesn't seem like there's much activity in NABS these days with our core members scattered about, however if anyone is interested, my HMS Cumberland is up for sale. It's been freshly re-sheeted, however needs some work on the internals (wiring harness and servo placement) before it's ready to hit the water again. This could be a way to get someone up and running quickly, it should only take a day of soldering a wiring harness and waiting for glue to set on servo's before she sails...
John found most of the keel and frames from a planned ironclad ram loosely based on Thunderchild from H.G. Well's War of the Worlds. The hull cross sections aren't bad but planking it was beyond my skills then so it's tin ram blade never saw use.
