so ive been curious to what is out there for CVs plans/builds. I know there are a few like the enterprise and akagi but what about the smaller ones? IE Ranger class CVs or Saipan class CVs. or even the axis CVs for that matter.
if you got one id love to see it :)

Get a Cleveland hull from BC and make a CVL. Easy and a pretty good convoy ship.

If you are looking for a smaller carrier there is something known as a baby flat top, it was a liberty or victory ship with a flight deck on top.

Now that would be an interesting unarmed project. Been looking for something different for convoy duty. Must find plans. Yeah, for later. Hmmmm.

I think BC or someone sold a fiberglass hull, I also had plans on here for a liberty hull.

Liberty hull isn't the issue, it's the flat top variants specifics I'd be after.

I would be interested in a Liberty based carrier if one existed. I've done the C-3 based Bogue, but a smaller ship would be better. If you have any information let me know.

After a little research, I didn't find any escort carriers built on a Liberty hull. I did find 3 British CVEs with hulls close enough to build with a Liberty hull.

    Liberty 441.5' oa 56.9' beam

HMS Audacity 441.75' oa 56.25' beam
Empire MacAndrew class 448.5' oa 56.1' beam
Empire MacRae class 446.5 oa 57.7' beam

There was a documentary I had seen and can not remember what it was called, but it stated that Henry J. Kaiser of the ship building yards that built the liberty ships had told the president that he could solve the issue of having only one carrier left in the pacific at the time he told President Truman he could built small carriers later known as baby flat top's, jeep carriers. The President told the US admirals they wear going to be coming their way despite there arguments that they wear not actual warships and that thay didn't want them, but they couldn't refuse a presidential order. I can not find the PDFs online of the liberty carriers but I have one of a Victory carrier if any one wants a copy of the booklet of general plans CVE-53.
I will keep looking for the liberty plans. I had a PDF at one time but I had sufferd a hard drive crash and that one must of went with the drive :(
