I sanded the sprayfoam buggers off. I am short of money right now to buy more spray glue and poster board so I have to wait to finish out the upper sides and top deck of the ship. I will plug the gaps in the front sides of the bow, but the upper sides will have to wait for the leading deck sides before I add more beaded foam as I want everything to match when all sanded down.
I bought some more poster board and spray glue yesterday, I also had to 3D model my self a extra rib in the aft area where the Propeller shafts come out I am not confident I can form the area correctly with out it.
I am finale moving forward with my project again, laminating 3 sheets of poster board together to make the panels for the hull parts. the foward deck is not fixed yet, it is just sitting there till I make the next panel for that deck level. and I added that rib but I am thinking I am going to have to work out the sharp angel when I go to start filling in the hull with spackle compound. this is what I got done in a day. I am working 10 hour 5 days a week... So I'm tired when I get home most work most days.
I am planing on using the hull as a plug to make a mold, I want to build the Mutsu and Nagato both for combat. To include my wife. Format: TBD.
https://rcwarshipcombat.com/threads/nagato-mutsu.447269/#post-542050 It was originally a 1/200 scale, I cleaned it up and blew it up to 1/144
FYI, SJS has announced that they're going to be doing a 3D printed kit of the Mutsu in the not so distant future.
It is our next priority combat hull, it will be an IRCWCC legal Class 6/6 unit "Nagato" hull but it will be wearing a 1934~ Mutsu S bent funnel superstructure. @Commodore and others input who are veterans of this style hull will be heavily taken into account to ensure it is an A+ combat hull, with user serviceability and maintenance in mind.
My wife and I had moved and what I had built got messed up despite being packageed and it will be just easier to start over. I had a existing delfit model I had created for a more shapely hull with more ribs to fix the issues I had with the back half of the ship where the propellers and rudders came out of the hull, there was a large void in the model where it needed a extra rib or two. I just have to tweek the model and prepare it to print out then I will start again...
