Been making some progress on the Barham.

I have been minimizing the use of wood so far. For the superstructure I have used closed cell foam covered with ABS plastic.

As you can see I will never win "Best of Scale"

On to the important stuff. The first Gun is mounted.

That is one of the reasons to build a Barham!!!

For the sidemounts I will be using the Maxspin Mark 1 cannon. I have ordered some 90 deg Push to connect fitting in order to get the air line to the cannon. I will figure out the magazine configuration after I have mounted the dual aft cannons.

Lookin' good Max...my only concern is how high the gun is sitting up out of the barbette. Will that fit under the turret as positioned?

I haven't cut a slot for the barrel yet, but I think it will fit.

I think it'll fit in that turret with no drama. Easy fit.

    42 pieces of balsa!

You can see where I used ABS plastic in the casements. Local rules do not require that we make them penetrable. I can remove the ABS and replace with balsa if I ever make it to an event that requires it.

Where did you find that fitting on the cannon to solenoid connection?

Brought the Barham to our battle this last weekend for sea trials. Had a little time before we got started to check float and speed. I am now to trying to figure out the firing boards, and pump switch..... Not my strong suit .

remind me and I will bring my test board to the july battle. We can then verify if the issue resides in the TX or in the switch configuration. if we can make my test board work, we can then figure out how to make your switches work the same way. I will let you know what connections will be needed to connect to my test board. they are all std. servo lead connections but I don't remember which one is male and which ones are female connections on the power side. on the RX to firing board connection, the connection is already female so it plugs right into the RX.
